Why gum works
Your cheek is a shortcut. Here is what actually happens when you chew a functional gum.
Two routes into the body
Capsule or tablet
- Swallow
- Stomach
- Intestine
- LiverFirst-pass metabolism removes a share
- Bloodstream
Functional gum
- Chew
- Saliva
- Cheek liningThin, non-keratinised, rich in blood vessels
- Bloodstream
Skips the stomach, gut and liver
Released as you chew, not all at once
Caffeine arrives faster from gum
Absorption rate, per hour, after 50 to 200 mg of caffeine
More time where oral care happens
Typical time each format stays in contact with teeth and gums
Where honesty is required
Gum is a better route for some compounds, not a magic door. Small molecules like caffeine cross the cheek well; larger ones like curcumin mostly act where they are released. Saliva carries part of every dose to the stomach, and release depends on how long you chew, which is why our packs give a dose and a chew time.

Chewing works the gum and releases the actives into your saliva.
Keep going for at least 15 minutes
Release happens across the chew. Stopping early leaves part of the dose in the gum.
Bin it
Wrap the chewed gum and put it in a bin.

Questions
What is a functional chewing gum?
A chewing gum that carries measured active ingredients, such as caffeine, curcumin or plant extracts, and releases them into saliva as you chew. LivNow lists every active per gum on the pack and on this website.
How is a gum different from a tablet or capsule?
No water is needed, and the actives release steadily across the chew instead of all at once. Some small molecules, such as caffeine, are partly absorbed through the lining of the mouth, so they reach the blood sooner than from a capsule.
Which LivNow gum should I choose?
ClovC for fresh breath and oral care. Dige after meals. VivaT, VivaM, Viva or Cofe for caffeine, from 14 mg to 75 mg per gum. Jingle for travel. Aswa for a daily pause. Spice for spice-led freshness. Vita for daily vitality.
Are LivNow gums vegetarian and licensed?
Yes. LivNow gums are vegetarian and made under FSSAI Lic. No. 13623026000517. Vita is an Ayurvedic product licensed under AYUSH, Lic. No. T-2505/Ayur.
How long should I chew one gum?
At least 15 minutes. The actives release across the chew, so a shorter chew delivers less.
How fast will my order arrive?
Orders of ₹198 or more ship free across India; below that, shipping is ₹49. Every order is dispatched within 24 hours.
Cartons, bottles or sachets?
ClovC, Dige and VivaT come in a pocket carton of 10 individually wrapped gums, or a month pack of three cartons. ClovC and Dige also come in a box of 25 sachets with two gums in each. Our other gums come as a pack of two bottles of 12.
Why does the gum feel firm at first?
LivNow gums use a dense sugar-free base that holds the actives. The first few chews feel firm, then the gum softens.
How much caffeine is in each gum?
Cofe has 14 mg, VivaT 50 mg, VivaM 60 mg and Viva 75 mg per gum. Add up every source in your day.
Who should not use the caffeine gums?
Children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and anyone sensitive to caffeine. If you take medication or have a medical condition, check with your doctor first.
Do the gums contain sugar?
No added sugar. Most LivNow gums are sweetened with polyols such as xylitol and maltitol, which may have a laxative effect if you eat a lot at once.
Where are LivNow gums made?
In our own facility at the Medical Devices Park, Sultanpur, Sangareddy, Telangana, run by Loka Laboratories Private Limited.
